An apple a day keeps the doctor away

I cannot even count how many times I heard this adage from my Mother. But actually she was right.. as always :-) It’s hard to enumerate the vitamins it contains, but let’s try!
Apples are loaded with vitamins A, B-1, B-2 and C, as well as calcium, potassium, iodine, iron and phosphorous. They promote growth in baby and toddlers, particularly in bones, organs, skin, blood, muscles, and tissue. Apples are also linked to positive dental development in infants, help to regulate blood sugar levels, and are an important source of fiber, which aids the digestive process.
 
Apple is kind of  a Jolly Joker in baby recipes. It can be added to meat, vegetables, yogurtes and you can mix it with other fruits, cereals. Apple is also a perfect choice of your baby’s first food you can make a nice juice out of it, you can steam and boil.
Now I would like to share with you my baby’s favorite apple recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Beet
  • 1 Small Potato

Take the ingredients peeled and sliced. Steam the apple separately from the other two, but when they get soft, put all of them in a blender and mix them to the appropriate consistency. It is so yummy and healthy I recommend to offer it to the baby once/week for main dish.
