Peanut butter


It is hard to get peanut butter in Budapest. You can buy them in special food stores, but only the sugar based versions. I love peanut butter, when I visited the Netherlands I would always have a piece of freshly baked bread with pindakaas and chocolate on. Or cheese, to freak out the Dutch people around.

I find so many recipes using peanut butter, so I wondered if I could make my own healthy version of it. And it turned out, not only I can, but it is ready in 3-4 minutes, depending on the food processor you use.

This is a two ingredients recipe, and if you don’t have such a sweet tooth as we do, you only need one of them.


  • 2 cup peanuts
  • 2 ts xilit

Just add the peanuts to the food processor and blend it for 3-4 minutes (you may want to give it a pause after every 1-2 minutes not to kill it). I added some sugar to it, but it is optional.
