Gouda cheese fondue

I just love cheese. For breakfast, for lunch, for dinner and as a treat. Not the smelliest ones, but I am a huge fan of every other type. I am the real Monty from Chip & Dale, I cannot resist if I am offered a slice of cheese (and never miss the chance to check out the cheeses when I am in a market or even at a supermarket). When skiing, I never miss to visit the Fromagerie of the French Alps’ little villages and buy a ton of cheese on the way home in a supermarché. :) Cheese is just cool!

I also love fondue, what could be cooler than dip stuff in melted cheese mix? Yummy!

This time we dipped potato cubes and chicken bites in the cheese, which was a mixture of Gouda and Cheddar.

  • 150 g / 1 c shredded Gouda cheese
  • 100 g / 3/4 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 dl / 1 c dry white vine
  • 2 dl / 1 c cooking cream
  • 4 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Heat up the cooking cream and add all the ingredients. Stir until well combined and thick enough for your taste. We use a simple fondue sett to keep it warm (if it would have time to cool down at all).
