Cottage cheese protein donuts

Hungarians are famous of their love of cottage cheese based desserts. Yeah, I know, it can sound weird to all of you who never ate a nice Túró rudi or a pancake with lemony-vanilla cottage cheese filling, but believe me, it worth a try! I mean, seriously, how could anyone not adore this, it is fresh, chocolaty and just a tiny bit sour from the delicious cottage cheese!

But back to my breakfast, I still had some cottage cheese left from yesterday’s delicious protein pancakes, so I decided to make some quick donuts to kick off the day. From the below portion I could make 20 donuts (each a spoon-full of dough), so in total one donuts is only 27,5 g, which is 58 kcal, out of which 4,8 g is protein!

Which makes it a perfect fit for my muscle growing attempt.

  • 1 1/2 c light cottage cheese
  • 3/4 c oatmeal flour (or ground oatmeal)
  • 3 1/2 tbs protein (vanilla flavor in my case)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbs coconut oil (or oilve oil) to bake

Heat one tbs oil in a pan on medium heat. Mix the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon, and then add one spoon-full of dough at a time into the pan. I baked each side of the donuts for 3 minutes on medium heat.

Eat it with jam, pudding or even nutella, if you are not on a strict diet. ;)
